The OATA is excited to announce that Oklahoma has been chosen as one of 4 states to participate in a grant program offered as a collaboration between the NFL Foundation, Korey Stringer Institute (KSI), Gatorade and National Athletic Trainers’ Association. The goal of the program is to increase athletic training services in Oklahoma.
As part of its commitment to promote athlete health and safety at all levels of sport, the NFL Foundation has launched a pilot grant program to provide funding to public high schools with football programs that have limited or no access to an athletic trainer.
Eligible schools in Oklahoma can apply for a three-year grant award totaling $35,000 through this pilot program. The number of grants provided will be at the discretion of an appointed review panel.
More information about the grant program can be found here: www.athletictrainergrant.com
Eligible schools are encouraged to apply before the December 16, 2016 deadline.
