All athletic trainers are required to earn a minimum of 50 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two years, with 10 of those categorized as Evidence-Based Practice CEUs. The next reporting deadline for athletic trainers is December 31, 2023. For more information about CEU requirements and categories, please visit the Board of Certification’s website below.

Ensuring your certification stays up to date is crucial. The NATA Professional Development Center (PDC) is your best resource for finding CEUs that are convenient and affordable. With a wide range of topics, there's one sure to meet your needs.

Athletic trainers must have a current emergency cardiac care (ECC) certification. If you need to update your ECC, take a look at the requirements.

For full details and more information on the BOC requirements for certification maintenance and reporting periods, download the BOC's handbook.
